First meeting – Triennial Cycle – Journey towards the Jubilee – 1700 years since the birth of Saint Basil

We invite you to relive the first virtual encounter of our Triennial Cycle, which marks the beginning of the «Journey towards the Jubilee for the 1700 years since the birth of Saint Basil the Great». This meeting, which brought together the Global Basilian Family, is much more than a historical commemoration; it is a profound opportunity to renew our vocation and return to the sources of our spirituality.

The video features the inspiring opening by Mother General Emanujila Vishka, OSBM, who reminds us of Saint Basil’s call: «Guard your heart with all vigilance». Throughout the encounter, we were exhorted to cultivate love for the Holy Scripture, fidelity to prayer and attention to our neighbor, pillars that transform us inwardly and allow us to build bridges of hope and peace in today’s world. In addition, the encounter features an enriching presentation by Dr. María Alejandra Valdés García on Saint Basil’s homily «Pay attention to yourself», teaching us to listen to God’s voice in the Scriptures.
